MOFA Spokesperson’s Commentary on Japan’s Diplomatic Bluebook 2016 (April 15, 2016)

1. The government of the Republic of Korea deplores the fact that the Japanese government once again made unjustifiable territorial claims to Dokdo, an integral part of the ROK territory historically, geographically, and under international law, in its Diplomatic Bluebook issued on April 15. The ROK government demands that such claims be withdrawn immediately.

2. The Japanese government should immediately stop making futile claims to Dokdo and look squarely at history in strong efforts to open a new future for the ROK-Japan relations.
